Overview
The Australian Marine Complex (AMC),Australia's leading integrated industrial estate, is located
at Cockburn Sound,
15km south of Fremantle, Western Australia.
The AMC had its genesis in a highly successful shipbuilding and repair and maintenance industry. It was dramatically transformed with the investment of $200million by the state and federal governments in a fabrication precinct incorporating a Common User Facility.
Since opening in July 2003 the Common User Facility has generated more that $90million for the locally economy and created over 800 jobs.
The AMC provides a world class venue for the fabrication, assembly and maintenance of large scale marine projects including LNG trains, pressure vessels, jacket structures, major subsea components and large ship fitouts.
In December 2006, the Western Australian Government committed to a further $174million infrastructure upgrade to the AMC which provides for a 100 metre floating dock.
