    Industry Direct is an exciting new community project which aims to help local businesses to share in the rewards offered by a multi-million dollar offshore and marine construction facility being developed at Jervoise Bay, in Western Australia.

    Industry Direct has been developed in response to a thrust by Government, industry and the community to generate employment and economic growth by fostering small business and regional buying networks.

  2. Who is Industry Direct?
    Industry Direct is a local government initiative encompassing the Western Australian municipalities of Fremantle, East Fremantle, Melville, Cockburn, Kwinana and Rockingham.

    The project was established in 2000 by the South West Group of Local
    Authorities with financial support from the Commonwealth Government. Industry Direct is administered by the South West Corridor Development Foundation (SWCDeF) Inc with ongoing support from Government and the private sector.

  3. What are the goals of Industry Direct?
    Industry Direct aims to help small and medium sized businesses in Perth’s south west metropolitan region to capitalise on opportunities generated by the Australian Marine Complex at Jervoise Bay.

    The Industry Direct website and business register is designed to assist local businesses to establish trading relationships and to develop the skills necessary to expand their production capacity in order to win a greater share of larger, more significant contracts.

    Industry Direct offers a targeted source of supply information for major contractors at Jervoise Bay and for other large employers in the region.

    Containing detailed information about hundreds of specialised small companies in the immediate vicinity, the Industry Direct business register will become first choice as a convenient, free source of essential supply chain information.

    Industry Direct has been established primarily for:

    based in the local government areas of Fremantle, Melville, East Fremantle, Cockburn, Kwinana and Rockingham.

  11. How much does it cost?
    Industry Direct is a free service for purchasers who wish to search for suppliers and for eligible companies who wish to join the Business Register.

  12. Why should I register my business?
    Industry Direct is a unique opportunity to promote your business. In addition to a free listing on the Business Register you will also have access to a wide range of networking, alliancing and educational opportunities to help build the skills and trading relationships you need to win a greater share of larger, more lucrative, contracts.

  13. How do I register my business?
    Registration is very simple. To add your company to the Business Register click the Business Profiles button on this website and follow the prompts. First, you will be asked to create a new account by entering your email address and a password of your choice.

    On the next screen, you will be asked to type your details into a registration form. Here you can add your company contact information, a description of your business - even photographs and a link to your own company website. Next, choose the business categories that are applicable to your operation by selecting from the list provided. Your registration is now complete and your business profile will be added immediately to the Industry Direct Business Register.

  14. How do I change my company information?
    If you find you have made a mistake or wish to update or delete your profile you can do so at any time by returning to Business Profile and selecting the Edit Your Business Profile option or simply click here to login and edit your details.

  15. How do I delete my company listing?
    Delete your company listing automatically at any time by returning to Busness Profiles then select Edit Your Business Profile, login and clear all fields.

  16. Is my business guaranteed to win work?
    Registering with Industry Direct does not guarantee that you will win work. The Business Register is designed to make it easier for potential customers to find your business quickly and easily, however, you still need to market your business actively if you wish it to grow.

  17. What is the Australian Marine Complex?
    The Australian Marine Complex is a world class marine industry complex south of Perth, in Western Australia. The precinct is expected to generate $250 million in new work each year.

    Funded by the State and Federal Governments, the $200 million waterfront facility will be the largest of its kind in Australia. An estimated 1600 direct full time jobs and 3000 indirect jobs will be created for the Western Australian community.

    Western Australia is the fastest growing State in Australia contributing a massive 40% of the nation’s overall mineral and petroleum wealth.     The Australian Marine Complex is managed by JBFM-Babcock. The company is a joint venture between JB Facilities and the Australian division of Babcock International, a worldwide defence and marine facility manager.
